Supports eligible individuals to undertake higher-level qualifications - typically at Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level - to expand their skills, advance their career, move into more specialised roles, or increase their employment opportunities.

What is Career Boost Funding? And how does it work?

This program provides training designed to build advanced skills that support employment outcomes, career advancement, or further study.
Through Career Boost, eligible participants can access:
One funded qualification at Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level under the general training pathway
OR
A higher-level apprenticeship or traineeship at Certificate IV level or above.
Participants may also be eligible for up to two funded skill sets in identified priority industries or sectors.

Please note:

  • If you have completed two apprenticeships or traineeships (including school-based or through Career Start) within the past 10 years, you are not eligible to commence another apprenticeship or traineeship under Career Boost.
  • You cannot undertake two general training pathway qualifications under Career Boost.

QTIS provides comprehensive information on all apprenticeships and traineeships that are approved in Queensland, including the priority level and government contribution.

General Training Pathway

To be eligible - you must:

  • Be 15 years or older and no longer at school
  • Be a permanent resident of Queensland
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or hold an eligible visa subclass
  • Not be currently enrolled in another qualification, even if it is deferred or on hold (Foundation skills qualifications do not count.)

*Note: This eligibility does not apply to individuals seeking to enrol in a skill set.

Along with the eligibility criteria above, specific entry requirements or exemptions may apply to certain funded qualifications and skill sets. These are set by industry or sector requirements, as well as national training package guidelines.

 

Traineeship Pathway

To be eligible, you must:

  • Have entered into a training contract for a qualification that is funded by us and be registered on our systems
  • If you’re from overseas, have a visa allowing you to work in Australia not be enrolled in another qualification
  • Not have already completed 2 apprenticeship or traineeship qualifications (including a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship) within the last 10 years.

BSB50820 Diploma of Project Management (Traineeship)

Project management is a vital part of any project and you could be at the forefront. The Diploma of Project Management is Self-paced training is suited to individuals who may or may not be employed but whom are looking to undertake study for personal professional development.

Entry requirements:

This course is suitable for students who are currently employed or seeking employment in a project management role.
To enrol in the project management course, students must:

  • Be able to read and write basic English Pass a language, literacy, and numeracy and digital test (LLND)
  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age Provide two forms of identification.
  • Course Duration Up to 12 months but generally between 6-8 months

What You'll Pay

A Co-contribution Fee will be applicable. The cost is: $5,500.00, which can be broken up into 4 payments of $1,375.

Co Contribution Fees

Co- Contribution fees under the Career Start and Career Boost programs are calculated at $1.60 /hour for each unit of competency completed.
