Course Structure What this course offers
The Queensland Structural Landscaper course equips learners with the skills to oversee work health and safety, estimate project costs, select and manage construction materials, and ensure compliance with legal requirements. It also covers effective communication and administrative processes to ensure smooth project execution from start to finish
Ways to Study
To achieve this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in 5 core units. Please refer below for the core units of competency and a sample of suggested electives:
Core Units (5)
- CPCCBC4002 â Manage work health and safety in the building and construction workplace
- CPCCBC4004 â Identify and produce estimated costs for building and construction projects
- CPCCBC4006 â Select, procure and store construction materials for building and construction projects
- CPCCBC4008 â Supervise site communications and administration processes for building and construction projects
- CPCCBC4009 â Apply legal requirements to building and construction projects

Prepare, fabricate and erect carports, decking, fences, gate, gazebos, ornamental structures, pergolas, ponds and water features, prefabricated sheds including associated concrete slabs, with a floor area of not more than 10m², and retaining walls and structures.

Construct artificial landform structures requiring a fabricated internal structure.

Prepare site, excavate, lay paving or concrete associated with landscaping.

Install irrigation for landscaping works.

Install, erect and construct playground equipment.

Construct, maintain and repair a tennis court or another sporting court, including, for example the following;

prepare or excavate the site;
-
concrete for the construction, maintenance or repair of the court;

apply materials or treatments to the surface of the court.

Prepare plans and specifications that are:

for the licenseeâs personal use, or
-
for use in building work to be performed by the licensee personally.

Successful completion of QLDLSCSQ02 Structural Landscaping Skill Set;

Successful completion of a course or units of competency of a course the commission considers is at least equivalent to the units of competency mentioned in paragraph (a)

The course duration will vary depending on your experience, skills and chosen study mode. As a guide:
- Standard duration is between 12-24 months
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): 3-6 months- this term may be extended by Funding Criteria, amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required  â eligibility criteria apply
- CSQ
- Program completion date is 20 September 2022 (for the Higher Level Skills General Program 2020/21 Contract)
- Program completion date is 20 September 2022(for the Apprentice Advance+ Higher Level Skills Program 2020/21 Contract)
- Program completion date is 20 September 2022 (for the Major Projects program 2020/21 Contract).
- Fee for Service: 3-12 months subject to the amount of RPL awarded and subsequent Gap Training required
Your skills will be assessed through a mix of practical and theory tasks. Which is essentially showing us what youâve learnt and how you do it.
Theory and Practical Assessment will be assessed Online. Practical Assessment will be conducted online through instructions and workplace activities conducted in your place of work. You will then make these completed tasks available to your trainer via the online learning platform to assess.
