Call it bullshit, call it woo-woo, call it whatever you like…. But here are 3 things you can do every day guaranteed to improve your life!
Smile, laugh, and get that belly moving!
Whether it’s telling another one of your cracking hilarious jokes or laughing at your mate who’s just reloaded his nail gun like he’s in some Die Hard action movie. Either way, laughing will gives you all the good feels, physically, mentally and socially among your mates and family.
Laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.
Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
Laughter lightens anger’s heavy load. Nothing diffuses anger and conflict faster than a shared laugh. Looking at the funny side can put problems into perspective and enable you to move on from confrontations without holding onto bitterness or resentment.
Refine your goals
Ever made an awesome New Year resolution that was going to get you to that next level? You were super keen on it and 7 weeks in it all falls to shit because the goal was too damn big and overwhelming. How the bloody hell are you ever going to do THAT THING?
Take a step back and chill, my friends.
Whatever that BIG goal is, you can 100% achieve it. It’s just about refining those big hairy audacious goals (BHAG) and breaking them down into smaller, more achievable chunks. Here’s an example of just how easy it can be…
Want to study something that will help you get THAT promotion? Awesome! That means more money in the bank to do cool stuff with.
Step 1 – Gather information, work out how places deliver training, how do you want to learn, how much time can you dedicate to this? Work out what that looks like and collect all the information you can to help make decisions.
Step 2 – Talk to someone. Most training facilities have people to chat to, to help you make better informed decisions that are right for you and your dreams
Step 3 – Decide on a course and ENROL. Buckle up, here comes the more enlightened, educated you!
Step 4 – Allocate some time each week towards the study so you get the qualification completed in a timely manner. Or break it down even further, an hour a day with a bevy in the arvo; too bloody easy.
Step 5 – Go apply for that next job, talk to your boss about more responsibility or a promotion, because you’re QUALIFIED! Show me the money!
Take some time for YOU
I know, I know…sounds boring, but hear us out.
Sometimes our social calendars can become busy places to live and the obligation to attend everything including the opening of an envelope might sound awesome but can become overwhelming, pretty quick!
We’re social animals and thrive on being part of the pack and it’s important for survival. However, all that socialising and giving ALL THE TIME can take its toll on your energy. Everyone needs some downtime.
