Say hello to David; one of our very own mature aged students

They say there is no time like the present and David certainly lives up to this. An experienced tradie who, like so many before him, has years of experience but was never given the opportunity (or had the desire) to undertake a qualification and get trade qualified.

David was looking to get his experience recognised and refresh his landscape skills. It was time for a fresh direction! For David, starting a qualification was more than just getting qualified it was about taking a stand and making a change in his life.

From indifferent to motivated, we saw a huge change in David throughout his course. He became a guiding influence on the other students who respected the experience he already had in the industry.

“I wanted a qualification that I can show to employers. What I actually got was the motivation to get out of the house and the opportunity to refresh my skills. This course helped me gain the confidence to speak with employers face to face and gain employment.”

David was empowered to complete and graduate with not only a certificate under his belt, but ventured out and found an excellent opportunity at a local farm using his new skills.
